There’s a lot going on in Cedar Key this coming Saturday, March 9, why not “Make It a Day!” The weather is supposed to be perfect (Sunny, high of 74o), shops and galleries all over town will be open, and there are some special annual events that you just might not want to miss.
The Cedar Key Arts Center is hosting the Tiny Treasures Artful Home Tour from 10 am until 4 pm. Twelve homes and one rental unit, all less than 1,000 square feet, will be on the tour this year. Most of the homes are in the Historic District and all are accessible by golf cart (the Gulf Kart Co is offering a special rate for tour participants, call 352-477-0041). Eighty-three West on Dock Street is also offering tour participants a quick pick-up box lunch including for $10 each from 11 am until 2 pm. Tickets and Maps are on sale at the Cedar Keyhole Artist Co-op through noon on Saturday ($20). Questions: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
In addition the Friends of the Library are having their Annual Book Sale from 9 am until 3 pm upstairs at the Library and Cedar Key Pottery and Greenhouse will have host the Annual Plant Sale adjacent to City Hall next door from 9 Am until noon.
While you are in that neighborhood, you can also check the March Exhibits upstairs at the Cedar Key Arts Center which features Clint Eagar of Grayton Beach, Florida, in the Main Gallery and the pastels of Carol Bowman and Julie Williams Bowman in the Member’s Gallery open 10 am until 5 pm. The show is entitled In Love with Cedar Key and includes many family Cedar Key scenes.

Last but not least, the Cedar Key Methodist Church is having its yearly Spring Fling, 9 am until 2 pm, which includes a Cookie Walk and lunch offering Rubens, potato salad, baked beans, and dessert.
So, Make It a Day in Cedar Key – see you Saturday!
