The Cedar Key Class of 2019 graduated Sat May 25, 2019. Principal Kathryn Lawrence began the event with welcoming the students, parents, staff, and community members for coming. Then the graduating seniors began their processional. The graduates also took white roses to family members.
Coach and Istructor David Tomlin delivered the commencement address. Holly Bishop gave the Salutatorian Address and Terra Dunn delivered the Valedictorian Address. Both students expressed thanks to their teachers, parents, and fellow classmates. The students agreed that a class of thirteen students was more like a family than anything. It was agreed that they had their differences,, but so do families. Both Dunn and Bishop expressed how fortunate they were to have gone to a small school where they felt provided for. The small class sizes allow teachers to spend more time with each student. The scholars said if the class is their family, teachers and faculty were their extended family.
One thing that makes Cedar Key unique is the support the town has for all worthwhile endeavors. One thing that makes the graduation at Cedar Key School unique is the outpouring of scholarships provided to students. These are announced at graduation.

These graduates are fully prepared to embark on their journeys whatever path they choose. But what was on their minds most immediately? “Where is the boil going to be?”
