JOB OPPORTUNITY BULLETIN BOARD... WORKING WELL

The “Job Opportunity” list, on the bulletin board in the Cedar Key Post Office, has been a wonderful way to get some chores done around my yard.  I am so pleased!

I had posted on the list that I wanted someone (who had lost wages due to the shutdowns) to clean and paint my front yard fence.  It is a picket fence with lots of angles and sides to clean and paint.  I just couldn’t face doing it!

The most well-mannered young man called the phone number I had listed.  He said he was out of work and could stop by at my convenience.  We set a time to meet.  He was right on time.  We agreed on an hourly wage.  And he eagerly set to work.

I hope more homeowners and business owners will join the list to offer “odd jobs” to those who are out of work. And I hope more of those who have lost wages will read the list in the Post Office and call to sign up for a job listed.
