Subject: Lightning’s Spook House
To the people of Cedar Key and the near-by communities:
During the first 15 days of school, 9000 students and staff have tested positive for Covid-19. The Dollar General has pretty well passed over Halloween and candy. The Seafood Festival has been cancelled. Social distancing is impossible at Halloween amongst the crowd. My main sponsor, G&G (the owner of our Halloween event site) and I agree that it is in the best interest of all concerned, the community and the kids, to cancel our participation in Halloween this year. We are so very sad to announce this, but…. Thank you all for celebrating with us for more than a decade. Hopefully 2021 will be different. Stay safe.—Wayne Watson, aka Lightning*******
