VACATIONING FAMILY JOINS CEDAR KEY PROJECT

The Beckham Family from Missouri has been enjoying early morning walks along G Street. With two lovely young daughters, who are nature enthusiasts, much of the family’s time is spent exploring the shells and rocks and tiny crabs in the sand.
One daughter hopes to be a geologist; she likes finding rocks with striations to show signs of an event in the history of the rock. Her younger sister loves to draw creatures that might be in the depths of the sea.
While on vacation here, the girls found a Horseshoe Crab Shell with a tag on it, listing an individual crab’s number and a toll-free phone number to report the finding.
Being budding naturalists, of course, they called in their report immediately!
Thank you to the Beckhams from Missouri who share the love of our unique habitat here on Cedar Key and are a welcome addition to nature-lovers visiting our island.*****
