SEAHORSE KEY LIGHT STATION LIGHTS UP FOR HOLIDAYS
December 12, 2020
On July 19, 2019, in the unseasonably cool, 75-ish degree temperature, and amid the drizzle of rain, a crowd nearing several hundred, convened at G and First Streets, the old Sand Spit Beach corner. They were in place to view the lighting of the Seahorse Key Light Station at 9:30 pm., an event last seen 104 years ago.
Now, in 2020, reports Dr. Mike Allen, Director of the Nature Coast Biological Station, the Light Station will be turned on from December 24 to January 1, each night from 7 pm to 10 pm.
The intersection of G and First Streets is the best possible viewing spot. Hope to see you there.
