CKWSD HIRES NEW GENERAL MANAGER

The Cedar Key Water and Sewer District met on Wednesday evening at 6 pm at the Community Center in a Special Meeting.  The four CKWSD members present were Chair Steve Rosenthal, Dottie Haldeman, Leslie Sturmer, and Joe Hand; Chris Reynolds was not present. 

Some years ago, while working as the part-time CKWSD attorney, John McPherson assumed the general manager role upon the demise of the previous general manager. 

This evening, in a four-to-zero vote, the board unanimously hired Chad Wisdom of Lyons, Colorado, in the role of general manager effective February 1, 2021.  Wisdom has many water certifications in other states and plans to achieve the necessary Florida certifications as soon as possible.  Wisdom has visited the island lately and worked with Superintendent James McCain and his associates.  McCain attended this evening’s meeting and spoke highly of Wisdom.

John McPherson will work with Wisdom for the month of February while continuing to work as the CKWSD attorney.   On March 1, McPherson will reassume his part-time attorney status and work with Wisdom “for as much time is needed.”
