CEDAR KEY OPEN GOLF TOURNAMENT
March 16, 2021
March 16, 2021
The sixth annual Cedar Key Open Golf Tournament was held on the beautiful sunny Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at the Chiefland Golf and Country Club. In spite of Covid concerns, 19 teams signed up, with a good time had by all. A low-country boil was held at the Big Deck and was hosted by both the Big Deck and Cooke’s Seafood. The tournament earned $7,750 and recipients include the Cedar Key Boys Baseball and Girls Softball teams and the Friends of the Cedar Key Library.
A big thank you to Bryan and Darlene Skarupski and the Big Deck Bar and Grill, Rick Cooke of Cooke’s Seafood, as well as the legion of volunteers who organize, promote, and execute the (tournament). Your dedication to our island community is greatly appreciated and the proceeds often enable community organizations to make purchases that seem outside the realm of possibility. We could not have reached the $7750 figure without those who generously sponsored tees:
• Chiefland Chevy Big Bend, who graciously sponsored THREE tees,
• Cooke’s Seafood,
• Drummond Bank,
• Fugate Law Firm,
• Island Trading Post,
• Joe and Betty/John and Jackie,
• Keith Hill (BD Blades),
