NEW CKPOTTERY 2019
CEDAR KEY LIBRARY LECTURE SERIES
March 16, 2021

MAR 16 LIB LECTPFALLERjoe 2Joe Pfaller, PhD, whose career in science became his goal after he volunteered on a sea turtle research project at the age of 15, will be guest speaker at the Cedar Key Library Lecture Series on Saturday, March 20 at 10:30 am.
A biologist since he was in diapers, Joe was never far from the nearest forest, creek, ocean, or subterranean garbage can working at his “dream job” of finding and catching animals. First as a volunteer and then intern with Caretta Research Project, Joe finished high school and completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at UF, joined the Archie Carr Center for Sea Turtle Research, and worked as Visiting Researcher with the Queensland EPA in Australia.

He completed his Master’s Degree in Biology from FSU and returned to UF to complete his PhD. Now serving as Research Director of that same non-profit sea turtle project, Joe applies cutting-edge science to unravel the mysteries of sea turtle biology.
