NEW DONATION FORMS A CONTINUOUS TRACT OF CONSERVATION LAND
April 29, 2021 by Jim Wortham
It’s official! Another very generous donation of land has been received by Florida’s Nature Coast Conservancy. Mr. Frank Patillo has donated two vacant lots along Gulf Boulevard within Cedar Key.
With the addition of this donation, the Nature Coast Conservancy now boasts a continuous tract of preserved land that will allow visitors and residents to walk from Paroda Avenue, across the Gulf Boulevard boardwalk to join the Cemetery boardwalk and go all the way to the Cemetery Overlook without passing a house or development.
Florida’s Nature Coast Conservancy is a 501(c)3 non-profit designated land trust that works to preserve local lands for conservation. Many tax advantages accompany enhancing our community through donating or estate gifting vacant land that can remain pristine and add to the natural beauty that is Cedar Key. Protecting these greenspaces from development helps to reduce flood insurance costs for everyone by improving our FEMA scoring designation.
Check out the FNCC at www.floridasnaturecoastconservancy.org, and make time to take the walk sometime from Paroda Avenue all the way to the Earl Starnes Overlook in Cemetery Park.
Thank you, Mr. Frank Patillo.
