AND AARP INVITE YOU TO THE
The Williston Area AARP and Citizens for an Engaged Electorate are co-hosting a Candidates Forum on Saturday, 7/28, 10-1. All voters are invited to attend.
Don't miss this opportunity to hear directly from candidates for office in a non-biased, audience-driven forum. Candidates will be present to introduce themselves and take your questions. (Cards for questions will be available at the door.)
PARTICIPATING CANDIDATES:
- County School Board--all candidates with opponents: Ashley Breeden Clemenzi, Gary Bennett
- County Commissioners--all candidates with opponents: Lilly Rooks, Rock Meeks, Ryan Bell, and Terance Reed
- Circuit Court Judge--all candidates: Julie Waldman, Gloria Walker, David Robertson
- Florida House District 22: all candidates--Charlie Stone (R), Brigitte Smith (R), and Bernard Parker (D)
- US Congress--Brandon Peters (D); no response as of last week from his primary or general election opponents, Bob Rackleff (D) and Neal Dunn (R)
- U.S. Senate--no responses as of last week
- Governor--at least one candidate
- Also:
- Supervisor of Elections Tammy Jones will be on hand with voter registration updates
- Candidate campaign materials
- Booklets with all proposed amendments
The sponsoring organizations have said that this will not be a debate; no "winners" will be declared or endorsements made.
LOCATION: WILLISTON MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL CAFETORIUM
- Enter through the side door.
- Doors open at 9:30.
PARKING: Access is through the gate on Highway 41 south of Hwy 121/Robert Philpot Way. (Parking on the north side of the campus will NOT be open.)
