CEDAR KEY SCHOOL
SALT STUDENTS
LEARN PRACTICAL SKILLS
September 29, 2018
Over the past two weeks, the Cedar Key School SALT (Shark Aquaculture Life Training) class has been learning practical skills in tying knots. The knots they have learned will help to keep them safe in their aquaculture careers both on the water and on land. Students learned the clove hitch, figure 8, figure 8 with a bite, rolling hitch, turn around with half hitches, double and single sheet bend, half hitches, square knot, and bowline. They took a practical examination on knots and every student was able to demonstrate the knots in question.
