FOOD PANTRY OPENS “OVER THE TOP”!
January 10, 2020
This was the first distribution from its new location on State Road 24.
Ensuring that no one was needful of food, the Pantry was open and did distribute goods on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2019.
This first food distribution of 2020 was extraordinarily huge. Deliveries were larger than normal: refrigerators and freezers are packed with meat, Pallets loaded with Brussel sprouts, cereals, breads, are ready to be distributed and so much more.
Food Pantry Administrator Sue Colson said, “We opened with a bang; deliveries were over the top this week.” She added that not every week would see as much food.
Many volunteers assisted in the Pantry’s opening. They lugged crates, filled refrigerators, cared for outside landscaping, painted inside and outside areas, and the many more things that need to happen before a new space can be utilized.
Thanks to this community, the Pantry has successfully moved and become functional.
