LIONS VALENTINE
DINNER, DANCE 2020
15 February 2020
Great music, delicious food, much dancing, and a silent auction made the February 14 Valentine Dinner and Dance at the Cedar Key Community Center a great success. The hundred attendees feasted on Peter Stefani’s Island Room pork, mahi-mahi, seafood jambalaya, collards, salad, and the city’s best sour dough rolls and butter. The music disc jockey Rodney Mosley from Genius Entertainment, geniusdjs.com, could not have read his audience better. His repertoire included everything danceable: slow, oldies, Joplin, Everly Brothers, Beatles, more l950s, 1960s, and 1970s pieces.
The evening, decorations, and dessert were orchestrated by Judy Duvall, Faye Sanders, Jay and Donna Bushnell, Terry and Becky LaFountain, Pete Petry, Debbie and Bob Pescura, Joan Selby, and Steve and Susan Rosenthal.
The Fifty-Fifty Raffle actualized $200; fifty percent went to the owner of the raffle ticket drawn from the bucket; fifty percent remains with the Lions, who always return it to the community in a variety of ways. As most Cedar Keyans know, Lions regularly provide milk for the Food Pantry and donate to the Cedar Key School, Another Way, and myriad other causes.
