VOLUNTEER -- BUY ART – MEET FABULOUS ARTISTS – SUPPORT THE FESTIVAL

The 56th Annual Spring Arts Festival in Cedar Key planned for April 4 and 5, 2020, will be here before we know it. The Old Florida Celebration of the Arts (OFCA) Committee is now lining up volunteers to help with a wide variety of fun tasks (Info Booth, Block Captain, Set-up/Take-down, etc) and is hoping that YOU will want to be a PATRON this year.
The Spring Arts Festival welcomes 120 fine artists and artisan including award winning fiber Artist Jean Yao along with a happy Patron. The event hosts a mix of both new to Cedar Key artists and old favorites in a wide variety of medium including ceramics, drawing, fiber, glass, mixed medium, printmaking, painting, photography, metal, wood and mixed medium.
Here are answers to some FAQs about becoming a PURCHASE AWARD PATRON:
· WHO and WHAT IS A PURCHASE AWARD PATRON? A PAP is anyone who wants to commit ahead of time to go shopping. You essentially buy a “gift certificate” to be used to buy artwork at the festival.
· HOW DOES IT HELP THE FESTIVAL? When artists are deciding which festivals to participate in they often look at the amount money committed to purchase awards. A well-funded PAP helps ensure the long-term success and survival of the OFCA in addition to showing community support for the event.. It’s a win-win-win for the Artist, the Patron, and the Festival!
· HOW DOES IT WORK? Purchase Awards are sold before the festival in denominations of $250. Patron packets are distributed festival week and include the Award Coupon and a Purchase Award Ribbon to be given to the artist at the time of purchase. Award Coupons are like cash and can be combined with other forms of payment. If a patron cannot find anything they like, we will refund the coupon price (minus a 10% donation to the Cedar Key Arts Center which serves as the Coordinating Sponsor of the Event).
· ARE THERE ANY OTHER PERKS TO BEING A PATRON? Patrons also receive an invitation to the Artists’ Reception and Awards Ceremony at the Arts Center Sculpture Garden Saturday evening, 5:00-6:30 pm and are can enjoy the Patrons Lounge hosted by Norm & Janice Fugate.
