SHORELINE PROJECT RECEIVES RIGHT OF WAY ACCESS FROM BOCC
March 6, 2020
University of Florida Institute for Food and Agricultural Services Doctors Savanna Barry and Mark Clark, who orchestrate the Cedar Key Living Shoreline Project, appeared before the Levy Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. They requested right of way access on county property along G Street and Airport Road during the period that materials will be delivered and installed along the coast, most probably in May 2020. Commissioners unanimously to approve the request pending Barry and Clerk’s forwarding to the county the signed documents attesting to the property owners’ approval of the Living Shoreline Project.
Barry and Clark also asked the county for the temporary use of a front loader bucket and a traffic manager to assist during the reef ball installation period. Levy County personnel replied with staff shortages and the inability to comply with the two requests at the present time but made clear the department’s full support of the Living Shoreline effort.
