March 11, 2020

The past couple days have been busy ones for the Cedar Key FFA Chapters. On Thursday, March 5th, Amanda Robinson competed in the District FFA Ornamental Horticulture event competing with her pressed flowers in the artistic arrangement category. This win moves her on to the state contest in April at UF.

On Friday, March 6th, the Middle School FFA chapter went down to Plant City for the State Livestock Judging Contest. The competitors were all seventh grade students: Raechel Brinkman, Payton Campbell, and Micah DeHaven. They will find out their results later in the week.

Sunday, March 8th was the start of the Suwannee River Fair and Livestock Show and the CK Middle FFA Chapter had two competitors with their meat does and one competitor in the BBQ Contest.

·       Sixth grader Morgan Winfield received two red ribbon placings with Fancy and Nora, was a blue-ribbon showmanship competitor, and placed second in the costume contest.

·       Seventh grader Payton Campbell received a blue ribbon placing with her doe and was the Junior Showmanship Winner for the doe show.

·       Eighth grader Lucas Ziegler competed in the Bar-B-Que Contest Sunday where he had to do complete set up of his grill, complete seasoning and cooking without assistance. This was Lucas's first FFA competition and he will find out his results later next week during the awards ceremony at the SRF.
