Dear Cedar Key Home Owners and Business Owners,

A few weeks ago, a group of Cedar Key residents wondered how they could financially help some of our out-of-work local population.

The idea was to offer “odd jobs” to be paid for in cash upon completion.

These jobs ranged from raking leaves to painting fences to walking dogs to car detailing and many others.

The job list was posted on the bulletin board at the Cedar Key Post Office, where out-of-work people could choose a job and call a phone number to arrange a time to meet the person offering the Odd Job.

In just a few weeks, all of those jobs have been completed.  Home owners have told me they were very pleased with the results, and felt good about helping.

Can we keep this job opportunity going while so many are still out of work?
