Now that the election results are official, I would very much like to thank the following people who made my re-election possible.

First, I would like to thank my opponent, Royce Nelson, for running a hard-fought campaign. I disagree with him about many things but that doesn't erase the commitment he has made to Cedar Key for the past several years. Thank you for your service, Royce, and I wish you success in your future endeavors.

I would also like to thank my campaign staff: my husband Stephen who served as my campaign manager and campaign treasurer, and Steven and Diana Priessman whose help with my communications and internet operation was invaluable.

I would also like to thank my donors and the many people who gave me their support during the month-long campaign. The knowledge that people were behind me in this campaign gave me the strength to endure the rigors of this race.

And finally, I would like to thank the voters of Cedar Key, but not just the ones who voted for me. I want to thank ALL of you for voting in this election. It's easy to cast your vote during ordinary times, but in times like this pandemic, I believe the people of this city showed their true quality by performing their civic duty during this crisis. Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled that I won, but I am filled to busting with pride for our tiny city because of how we were able to do this amazing thing during this pandemic.     

So, I humbly thank all of you who voted and I give you my promise that I will do my very best for all the citizens of Cedar Key for the next two years. Thank you all very much.
