LESSONS FROM ISURUS, THE TURTLE
Do remember:
Whenever you refer a wounded or stranded animal to the UF Marine Animal Rescue or FWC, no blame is ever attached. These organizations only want to help the animal and appreciate all the information and help you can give them.
These organizations rely on information from fishermen and watermen for trends, changes, and fluctuations in the environment. These animals are “sentinels of the environment.”
Should you come upon a wounded, stranded animal, do call for help. Do not try to unhook the animal yourself if possible. Let the experts de-hook the animals.
