CANDIDATES FORUM…JULY 18

AS OF JULY 16, 2020, THREE ADDITIONAL CANDIDATES WILL ATTEND THE VIRTUAL FORUM!

The time for one of the segments of the 2020 Candidates Forum on July 18 has been changed. The forum for county candidates will start a half-hour later than previously scheduled, beginning at 7:30 p.m. instead of 7:00 p.m. It will end at 9:00 p.m.

The forum for state candidates is still set for 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The 2020 Candidates Forum is sponsored by two non-partisan political action groups: Citizens for an Engaged Electorate (CEE) and North Central Florida Indivisible (NCFI)

Both forums will be available later on the same platform, and viewers can also find it on the YouTube channel beginning Sunday, July 19.

All candidates facing opposition who will appear on Levy County ballots were invited to participate. As of Monday, July 13, at 2 p.m., the candidates who plan to appear are:

For State Senate, District 5, Melina Rayna (D) and Jason G. Holifield (R). For State House, Barbara Byram (D).

For Superintendent of Schools, Jerry Lawrence (NPA). For School Board District 2, Darby Allen (NPA).

For Tax Collector, Michele Langford (R) and Sabrina Sheppard (R).

For Soil and Water Conservation Board District 2, Paula Lessard (DPA).

Hosting the event will be Lou Jones for CEE and Jyoti Parmar, Director, NCFI.
