CEDAR KEY ARTS CENTER, April 3, 2021, A SUCCESS!

April 6, 2021

Submerge yourself in the beauty of North Florida, inspire yourself to create, and do something good for others all by visiting the Cedar Key Arts Center.  April Exhibits at the Arts Center opened this past weekend and will be open daily from 10-5 pm through April 25.APR 6 CKAC Play with Clay

The Main Gallery features the Impressionist Landscape paintings of prolific Alachua County artist, Diane Brody.  Diane captures the peaceful quiet and hidden energy of light, water and even sound in her oil paintings inspired by the beauty of her natural surroundings.

In the Members’ Gallery you can enjoy the creations of the Cedar Key Arts Center Play with Clay group that has been working together since the downstairs storeroom was transformed (at least in part) into a ceramic studio a year ago. Some of the artists were just beginners last spring, others with more experience helped teach building, glazing, and turning techniques in addition to working on their own art work. Be inspired and join in creating.  The Play with Clay group meets a couple of time a month and will continue through the summer. Contact

Thanks to Amy Gernhardt and several of her experienced potter friends, 100 unique handmade “Empty Bowls” are available for purchase at the Arts Center ($20/each).  Bowls may be purchased for $20 each, with all proceeds benefitting the Cedar Key Food Pantry.  Donations always appreciated.

Thanks to all of the artists whose hard work make the Arts Center what Founder Cathie Christie had envisioned…. an open, creative, inspiring place that nurtures and encourages art & the artist in all of us.
