SEWING CLUB HAS GREAT YEAR, THANKS THOSE WHO HELPED!

Wednesday afternoons are busy at the Cedar Key Art Center! The Shark Sewing Club has made purses, dresses, pillows, and even a poncho.

A highlight of the year was participation in the Cedar Key Women’s Club Fashion Show in March. The girls had their hair styled by Haley Simpson at Hair by Haley and then went to the Community Center for the performance. The audience welcomed the girls warmly with lunch and wonderful desserts. Everyone was so encouraging that dress rehearsal nerves vanished in the excitement of the show!  

As the year ends, we would like to thank our many donors. The club now has six beautiful sewing machines, purchased from Beth Davis at The Salty Needle Quilt Shop, and lots of fabric and notions given by other crafters in our area and beyond. Special thanks to Sue Colson and Mr. Slemp at Cedar Key School for all their help.

We are looking forward to another wonderful year in 2018-2019.
