Cedar Key Historical Society was established in 1977 by a group of citizens dedicated to preserving the long and rich history of Cedar Key.
Our purpose is to encourage and foster interest in this history. The Society is a steward of the surrounding area, preserving its unique heritage. Come down South near the Suwannee River and lose yourself in the past of one of Florida's oldest cities and currently one of America's best small towns.
Cedar Key Historical Museum opened its doors in 1979 in the historic Lutterloh Building on the corner of Second Street and SR-24 in historic downtown Cedar Key, Florida. The Museum is open 1 pm – 4 pm Sunday through Friday and 11 am – 4 pm on Saturday.
