PARKING CHANGES IN CEDAR KEY

At last Tuesday’s Cedar Key Commission Meeting, Police Chief Virgil Sandlin addressed parking concerns. The following actions are but several of the plethora of changes being discussed and to be followed up upon in the future. The following street parking actions Sandlin hopes to have in place by the July 4 weekend.
Look for new signage and painting to help you park in the right place.
Sandlin focused on the following actions.
Contracting with a striping company to paint parking lines in the Marina at $750.
On Second Street, between A and B Streets, enforce car parking on the north side and only golf carts and motorcycles, with no angle parking, on the south side of the block, hence, hence easing two-way traffic. Sandlin will mark and paint the street sides accordingly and order signage.
