LEVY COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEAMENT
February 5, 2020   1:20 pm

I have attached an updated weather forecast from the NWS Tampa.

Not much has changed, but I wanted to give you some of our key points:

  • Take standard preparedness actions for severe thunderstorms
  • High winds will be the largest hazard for all of Levy County, both coastal and inland
  • Areas along the coast will have higher than normal tides and hazardous marine conditions
  • Timing of the storms will be late afternoon into the evening on Thursday
  • And of course: High winds=Power outage

Normally this would not be too much of a public information event, but since most people only associate severe thunderstorms with spring and summer, we want to make sure that everyone has all the information they need.
