EXHIBIT OPENS
Stop by the Cedar Key Arts Center at 457 Second Street to enjoy the new exhibit that opened on Saturday, November 21. Entitled Words and Works of Art, the show challenged artists to express the synergy between these two forms of expression. Artists were asked to include the “words” that inspired the piece (words, poem, book, song, etc.) or were inspired by the artwork along with their entries.
WORDS, WORKS WINNERS
Congratulations to first place winner, Sarah Westerberg, for her paper collage entry Keep Love Alive. Second place went to Mike Leiner for Messing About in Boats, a creative 3D construction inspired by Wind in the Willows. Third place went to Ann Kamzelski for her photography triptych and haiku poetry entry, Dinner Time.

ARTIST “EMERGING”
Sandy Witcher, self-described “emerging” artist in search of her preferred medium, is the featured artist in the Member Artist Gallery. New to the island, she immediately joined the Cedar Key Arts Center and loves learning from the area artists in their workshops. She is currently playing with fabric and napkin decoupage, acrylic paint pours, and dot painting while rescuing items headed for the landfill in the process.
