MINOR TO MODERATE COASTAL FLOODING EXPECTED THURSDAY NIGHT DECEMBER 20TH

Due to the strong onshore winds that are expected with the storm front on Thursday, the National Weather Service is expecting some coastal flooding issues in Cedar Key and Yankeetown.
The NWS is expecting to see coastal flooding in the range of 4.4ft MSL up to 5.1ft MSL. These flood levels can result in minor home flooding in homes directly on the water along with some street flooding.
With the potential flooding not expected until Thursday night into Friday morning, residents and visitors that live along the coast and in Yankeetown should take necessary precautions now to protect their property.
