BURGLARIES IN CEDAR KEY
...SANDLIN SPEAKS
July 17, 2018

At last night’s Cedar Key City Commission Meeting, Police Chief Virgil Sandlin told commissioners and the audience that a rash of burglaries occurred Monday, July 18, in the early morning hours from approximately the school on Whiddon Avenue to Fourth Street. Car burglaries, one auto theft, and two firearms were among the stolen items.

Chief Sandlin strongly advised residents to lock their cars and take valuables, particularly firearms, inside.

Though Cedar Key is a small town, problems occurring in larger cities can take place here. One of the worst thing residents can do is make thieves’ work easy.
