YOUR UF ANTIBODY TEST RESULTS ARE COMING
July 1, 2020
.....a note to those tested in Cedar Key on April 30 or May 1 from DR. ANDY KANE , UF COVID-19 RESEARCH TEAM
Thank you again for your participation in the UF COVID-19 research study. For participants who contributed blood samples to test for antibodies against COVID-19, we thank you for your patience. We encountered initial delays in getting the serology (antibody) assay operational; however, reporting of results by e-mail will begin this week for Cedar Key study participants. While we are starting to report results, please continue to be patient, as it may take several weeks to finish testing all of the samples, and to get results to all persons who provided us with blood samples.
In the meantime, please continue to practice ways to reduce your exposure to the virus and to transmitting the virus to others by washing your hands often with soap and water; avoid touching your eye, nose, and mouth; practice physical distancing from others to limit the spread of germs; clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces; wear a mask in indoor public places and follow your community's mask recommendations. If you develop mild symptoms of fever, cough, or shortness of breath, call your primary care provider for guidance on examination and testing. Should you develop moderate or severe symptoms, do not hesitate to seek medical care, call 911, or go to your local emergency department.
Our thanks again for your participation - and stay well!
