Two of the young men who were arrested earlier this week for two burglaries of businesses in Cedar Key also have been arrested for the September 29 burglary of the Cypress Station convenience store in Sumner.
The Levy County Sheriff's Office announced that Paul Edward Neese, 19, was arrested on December 2 and William Timothy Sills, 17, was arrested December 3 for the earlier burglary. Though Sills is 17 years old, he and the others are being held at the Levy County Jail. On September 29, 2008 at 2:21 A.M. the Levy County Sheriff's Office received an alarm at the Cypress Station convenience store. The suspects allegedly forcibly entered the store and stole a safe containing an undisclosed amount of money.
On November 2, 2008 the Market at Cedar Key was forcibly entered and the store`s safe and money were stolen. On November 18, 2008 suspects forcibly entered Coconuts on Dock Street in Cedar Key stole an undisclosed amount of US Currency. On November 26, 2008 Chief Virgil Sandlin with the Cedar Key Police Department developed information that Neese and Sills were suspects inthe burglaries of Coconuts of Cedar Key store and the Market store. Chief Sandlin obtained a search warrant at Sills residence and Lt. Scott Tummond assisted in the search. Upon executing the search warrant a red Cypress Station deposit bag was located inside the residence and the stolen safe from the Cypress Station was located behind Sills` residence in the woods.
Through the investigation Chief Sandlin arrested Robert Mann II and Desmond Jim Hurley for breaking into the Coconuts store and also the Market store. The defendants and their charges are as follows: Paul Edward Neese, 19, of Cedar Key, is charged with three (3) counts burglary and three (3) counts grand theft. William Timothy Sills, 17, of Cedar Key is charged with three (3) counts burglary and three counts (3) grand theft. Robert Ray Mann II, 25, of Chiefland, is charged with two (2) counts burglary and two (2) counts grand theft, as well as two (2) counts criminal mischief. Desmond Jim Hurley, 18, Cedar Key, is charged with two (2) counts burglary, two (2) counts grand theft and one (1) count criminal mischief. |
