WORDS ON THE COMMUNITY GARDEN WORK EVENT
March 11, 2020
There were tales of Beatrix Potter
Even before we could totter.
Miss Tiggywinkle, Peter Rabbit –
They became quite a habit.
Even before we could totter.
Miss Tiggywinkle, Peter Rabbit –
They became quite a habit.
The rabbits ate all the veggies owned by Mister McGregor,
A crusty old beggar,
But he’d give us a pardon
For our community garden.
A crusty old beggar,
But he’d give us a pardon
For our community garden.
It’s come a long way
From our very first day.
Our kale, it impresses
And we’ve a fetish about our lettuces.
From our very first day.
Our kale, it impresses
And we’ve a fetish about our lettuces.
Now we’ve released lady bugs
To eat up aphids and slugs.
They’re voracious little buggers
And great for tree huggers.
To eat up aphids and slugs.
They’re voracious little buggers
And great for tree huggers.
And today it’s project irrigation
For our latest excitation.
No more lugging of hoses,
No more soaking our clothses.
For our latest excitation.
No more lugging of hoses,
No more soaking our clothses.
One final word, don’t you ever forget,
As you tend your courgettes,
Don’t dust with Severin –
We’re powered by Tom Deverin.
As you tend your courgettes,
Don’t dust with Severin –
We’re powered by Tom Deverin.
On Wednesday, March 11, from 9 to 11 am, the Cedar Key Community Gardeners installed a second irrigation system. The first system provided water to the garden beds; this second system will provide water to the beautiful flowers planted un the ground around the Garden and along the garden path. This new system will make summer water simpler. Joe Hand, Doug Lindhout, and Tom Deverin designed the system….and it works like a charm. The rest of the Gardeners clipped hedges, weeded, but most seriously dug trenches. Much, much work was done today.
Our Poet Gardener Colin Dale created the “Words…” above. We hope you enjoy.
