LIVING SHORELINES PROJECTS...WHAT AN OPPORTUNITY!
January 26, 2020
As a part of the living shorelines projects, three weeks of volunteer events are planned for students, faculty, and the community involvement. Currently, dates set aside are January 28-30, February 12-14, and March 10-12 for living shoreline volunteer days in Cedar Key. Each day would be roughly four hours of work with volunteers meeting at the Nature Coast Biological Station. Work includes reef outline marking, oyster sill construction, marsh transplants, and more. More details and the link to the event is on the Nature Coast Biological Station Facebook page: https:// www.facebook.com/events/846218515830874/. Additionally, the volunteer signup page can be found here: https://volunteersignup.org/E4BYT . Hopes are to get at least six people per day, with a maximum of fifteen people per day.
