Lions to Host Toastmasters International

ANNOUNCEMENT

Lions Host Toastmasters International
Presentation on Tuesday Sept. 22.


The public is invited to the Cedar Key Lions Club Speakers Night on Tuesday, Sept 22 at 7 pm.


The evening features a presentation by Lions Club Director and Distinguished Toastmaster Jim Green
of Toastmasters International.
Toastmasters benefit their communities by conducting the following types of programs:

Youth Leadership - public speaking training for junior and high school students.

Speechcraft - a short course in public speaking for adults in business, education, industry and government.

Speakers Bureau - to help other nonprofit organizations and community and government groups tell their stories to the community.

Gavel Clubs - bringing Toastmasters training to Gavel Club students at the Cedar Key School.

Success/Leadership and Success/Communication presentations á€" educational modules in a how-to format on topics such as conducting productive meetings, effective listening, parliamentary procedure, evaluation, creative thinking, leadership, management and training.


The Toastmasters will demonstrate a Toastmaster meeting and explain the Toastmasters program.The presentation will include Table Topics (impromptu speaking) and a Prepared Speaker and Evaluation. These and other Toastmaster terms will be explained as part of the presentation to generate interest and additional members to charter a Cedar Key Toastmasters Club in support of the Gavel Club already established at Cedar Key School
