Parents and students can expect some changes in the 2016-2017 school year, as Levy county shifts towards an earlier start and end date for the upcoming school year.

To start, the students will return to school August 10th, wrapping the first quarter up during the first week of October.  Students will get one week (November 19th-27th) for Thanksgiving break.  Semester One exams will now take place before Christmas break as opposed to after, lessening the chance of students forgetting pertinent information before the end of the semester.  Semester one exams run from the 16th to the 20th of December, with the 20th being the last day of the semester. Christmas break begins the 21st and students will return January 4th.  The end of the 3rd nine weeks is March 10th, 2017 and Spring Break will run from March 11th to the 19th.  The last day of the 2016-2017 school year is May 26th, the Friday preceding Memorial Day; final report cards will be distributed June 2nd.  

This calendar year marks a transition the School District of Levy County has been planning on using for the foreseeable future.
