CEDAR KEY GARDEN CLUB SCHOOL DONATES DOLLARS, PLANTS TO SCHOOL

On January 15, 202, the Cedar Key Garden Club continued it support of the Sharks on Wednesday with donations to the volleyball team and for the school grounds.

Club President Roger McDaniels delivered a generous check to Athletic Director Marissa DeHaven to cover the costs of new uniforms for volleyball players. The club raised those funds at the lemonade stand during the October Seafood festival.

Then, Garden Club Vice-President arrived with a truckload of perennials to plant around campus. Joe and Roger said the plants were purchased for CKS with proceeds from the club's Annual Plant Sale on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and included two each: loquat, chaste tree, crepe myrtle, and lagerstroemia.

Principal Kathy Lawrence and students from Rachel Wetherington's middle school agriculture class accepted the plants: from left, Devin Haines, Lane Forney, Anna Keller, Adriana Girdler, Lucas Zeigler, Lexi Sharp, Morgan Beckham, Jeffrey Schleede, along with Joe Hand, Kathy Lawrence, and Roger McDaniels.
