Nature Coast Wildlife Experience

Press Release

Florida's newest birding and wildlife event is scheduled to take place October 28 – 31, 2004, in Cedar Key, Florida. Cedar Key is a small island community situated in the midst of a natural paradise on Florida's Nature Coast, approximately 80 miles north of Tampa.

The Nature Coast Wildlife Experience will feature a number of different birding events with an emphasis on an abundance of winter shore birds. There will also be a number of other quality nature based activities including presentations and field trips focusing on native plants, marine biology, natural history, aquaculture, ancient Indian shell mounds, kayaking, and wildlife photography workshops. These events will be lead by highly knowledgeable experts in their respective fields.

Event organizers advise that the Nature Coast Wildlife Experience is similar to some larger, more established birding and wildlife festivals. However, this event does not seek to draw large crowds to this tiny island town on a single weekend. Consequently the festival aspects, such as vendors, arts, and crafts have been de-emphasized. Cedar Key already has numerous established shops, galleries and restaurants in close proximity to one another. Rather, the events seek to attract birders, wildlife photographers, paddlers and nature lovers in general.

You can find out more about this event by logging onto the website at www.NatureCoastWildlifeExperience.org, or calling 352-543-0099.
