During the 2004 Legislative Session, Senator Dockery and Rep. Russell worked tirelessly as sponsors of landmark water resources legislation, HB 293 which was the culmination of three years work involving many stakeholders from around the state, representing a full range of interests. Authority Executive Director Jack Sullivan indicated that Senator Dockery, Rep. Russell, and Senator Argenziano who is closely involved in all water resources issues effecting our area have worked exceptionally well together as a team in order to successfully protect the "local sources first" provision in law that helps to prevent outside interests who have depleted their own ground water supply from raiding areas where water is more plentiful. Mr. Sullivan says that the Authority looks forward to supporting their continued efforts during the coming 2005 Legislative Session. |
