Korean Defense Service Medal Information

When the KDSM became available in February of 2004, Rep. Brown-Waite reached out to the local veterans` community to find eligible applicants. Rep. Brown-Waite`s office then worked with the veterans and the Department of Defense (DOD) to secure the medals. For more information on the KDSM, visit the DOD`s website at http://www.defenselink.mil/releases/2004/nr20040209-0334.html.

2005 marks the 30th Anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, and the 60th Anniversary of the end of World War II. Rep. Brown-Waite is taking this unique opportunity to acknowledge all veterans who served in the WW II and Vietnam Wars by presenting them with a Commemorative Coin for their service. This coin is just a small token of her gratitude to those veterans who served our country so bravely.

To be eligible for these coins veterans must live in the 5th Congressional District, have been honorably discharged from the United States Armed Services and have served in either WW II or the Vietnam War.
