New Club Creates Impact By Benjamin Bainbridge A new club has been started this year, and will be parented by Sr. Beta until it is on its feet. The club, called Impact, is focusing on students getting along, helping each other, and looking out for one another. Impact will not charge the students dues to be a part of, and everyone in the high school is encouraged to join. The first meeting was held on February 1 st, to explain the purpose of the club to students, and to allow them to influence, somewhat, the structure. Mr. Whitman, Cedar Key`s Marine science teacher, was invited as the guest speaker. He talked about bullying in school, and how it has been a problem as long as schools have been around. He discussed methods to discourage it and to discredit harmful things that are said between students. After he finished, the club participants were invited to just hang out, play games and to socialize in a positive environment. Meetings will be held once a month, and announced in the school bulletin. Carnations! By Rose Myers Valentines Day is a day for people to show their love to each other, and what better way to show your love than sending flowers? The FFEA club is selling carnations around school to be delivered on Valentines Day. The flowers are two dollars each, and can be inscribed with a personal message. The purchase of the carnation is not limited only to students; parents may buy them as well. See a FFEA club member for information on purchasing carnations for your special someone.
