In 1973, President Gerald Ford authorized National EMS Week to celebrate EMS professionals and the important work they do. At that time, EMS was a fairly new profession and EMS personnel were only beginning to be recognized as a critical component of emergency medicine and public safety team. Last week, Levy County joined the nation in honoring Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Professionals for their dedication to public service. The theme for the 45th annual National EMS Week is EMS Strong: Stronger Together.

Levy County Department of Public Safety (LCDPS) is proud to have dedicated members to preserve life and property and promote public safety within our organization. LCDPS encourages Levy County Citizens to visit your local EMS or Fire station to learn more about what we offer our community and how you can get involved.
