WILLIAM T. ROBINSON
31 JANUARY 2020
William Robinson aka Broccoli Billy, died of pneumonia on Jan. 24 at Shands. Billy has lived here in Cedar Key since the late 1990’s. He worked for Taylor Construction for 5 years or so as a carpenter. He created gold lettered signs for local businesses. He wrote articles on gardening and life that were published the Cedar Key News. His last 5 years have been spent tending his 100-foot greenhouse. Billy was an American patriot and a Christian. He built the wooden geared autotrons for Halloween. The man was absolutely brilliant with a bad attitude.
Billy came here after a career as an ironman and a sign maker. He helped build Olympic stadiums in New York state. He had a successful sign business. He drove a school bus. He fathered a boy and a girl. His parents have died; they adopted Billy and his ‘sister’ when they were both babies.
There is a fund set up at the Eagles to help pay for his cremation. We need to raise a thousand dollars all together.
