CEDAR KEY ARTS CENTER FEBRUARY OPENING

On Saturday, February 1, judges awarded First Place to Donna Thalacker for her “Great Blue Heron,” Second Place to Frank Morgan for his “Sailor Delight,” and Third Place to Anne Lindgren (not pictured) for her painting “Seahorse Key”. Artists Nancy Hansen, Mike Leiner, and Ann Kamzelski received Honorable Mention Ribbons. These winning entries were announced during the February 2020 Opening Reception of the Cedar Key Art Center’s Main Gallery.

Sixty entries were submitted in this year’s Open Community Exhibit, entitled “In Love with Cedar Key.”

February’s Member’s Gallery features the works of Donna and Jay Bushnell and Sherry Sicking. Donna and Jay are displaying handmade jewelry, wood carvings, and lapidary. This wife and husband duo are eclectic artists who enjoy the challenges of trying a new medium. Sherry paints pastel scenes. She began her pastel studies after a vacation to New Mexico in 2009.

All gallery entries can be viewed at the Cedar Key Art Center, upstairs above the Cedar Keyhole on Second Street, February 1 through 27, daily from 10am to 5pm.
