NEW CKPOTTERY 2019
1842 DAILY GRIND
CELEBRATES VALENTINE’S
February 17, 2018

If you haven’t dined at the 1842 Daily Grind, you have certainly missed a delight. ..at least temporarily. Valentine’s Day was the last evening meal to be served there for a while. But what a night!

In the wonderfully warm, gracious style with which owners Martin Kemp and Terry Williams do everything, so went this evening’s fare. Women diners were each presented with a delightful box of Valentine chocolates. Wait staff Dottie Haldeman and Lisa were consummately attentive, their service impeccable. Full linen island-friendly tablecloths completed the setting.

Starters included the most delicious cheese plate and equally scrumptious salad with grapes, feta, nuts and more. Entrees included a choice of: pork tenderloin with gruyere and sour cherry stuffing, or red wine beef and mushroom stroganoff, or shrimp and lobster Newberg. How is one to choose?

Desserts were equally spectacular: key lime pie, naked cranberry cake with brandy cream, naked rum raison carrot cake with warm rum sauce, and coffee, tea, or expresso.

Hopefully, evening dining is not gone for too very long.
