PIRATES OF PENZANCE JR. IS OPENING THIS WEEKEND AT THE CHIEF THEATER, HOME OF THE SUWANNEE VALLEY PLAYERS!
July 23, 2014

JULY 28 SVP PENZANCE CAST-PPJ 26

The Suwannee Valley Players announces that the youth production of Gilbert and Sullivan's Pirates of Penzance Jr. will be opening this weekend at the Chief Theater, home of the Suwannee Valley Players!. This hilarious farce is filled with sentimental pirates, bumbling policemen, dim-witted young lovers, dewy-eyed daughters and an eccentric Major-General, all morally bound to the often-ridiculous dictates of honor and duty. Join us for this wacky and irreverent show for all ages. Book and Lyrics by Sir William Schwenck Gilbert, music by Sir Arthur Seymour. This play is presented by special arrangements with Music Theatre International.

BLUE GRASS CONCEERT!
RIGHT HERE IN CEDAR KEY!

Thanks to the tireless efforts of Marci Wilcox and other volunteers, fingers were snapping, feet were tapping, heads were bobbing, and voices were humming to the music of Monroe Crossing and Ernie Evans’ Florida State Bluegrass Band at the Cedar Key School on Wednesday evening.  Over 150 residents and visitors filled the auditorium at the nearly three-hour concert held to raise money for the school’s students.
