DETERIORATION CONTINUES
FORCES LANE CLOSURE
FOR MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND AND BEYOND

The bridge on Airport Road (CR-346) to the George T. Lewis Airport at Daughtry Bayou is down to one lane. The east lane which carries traffic from the airport is closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Fishing from that side of the bridge was also affected but groups of weekend visitors happily fished from the banks at each end of the bridge.
A few of the bridge supports have now deteriorated to the point that it is unsafe for traffic and repairs will have to be made before the lane can be re-opened. From the photos, one taken in 2012 and the other taken this weekend, the change in deterioration is clearly visible. It has not been determined when the repairs will begin. Updates will follow as they are recieved.
