GUIDED WALK: SEPTEMBER 3 (10am - 12pm)
Kanapaha offers a guided tour of the Gardens the first Saturday of every month, starting at 10:00am. The docent is Master Gardener, Alicia Nelson. Regular admission price for non-members and members are admitted free of charge.
 
PAINT OUT: SEPTEMBER 9, 10, 11
Local landscape artists will be gathering to create live paintings at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens. The 3 day event is part of the 13th Worldwide Artist Paint Out, linking artists and locations all over the world and promoting art as a universal language that has no borders. The lush settings and vistas of Kanapaha Gardens will offer the artists an abundance of inspiration. The gardens have long been a muse for the local creative community, and hosted in 2002 one of the very first paint outs in Florida. Since then, these events have seen an explosion of popularity and patronage. Come join us! Witness the mysterious creative process as you stroll through the gardens from artist to artist. They will marvel you with their sleight of hand as they magically create masterpieces before your very eyes! Regular admission price for non-members and members are admitted free of charge.
 
ART OPENING: SEPTEMBER 16 (6pm - 9pm)
Be the first to purchase a favorite painting at the reception and exhibition in the Summer House Gallery. The show, Worldwide Paint Out at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens will hang in the Summer House Gallery through the end of 2016. A commission of 40% on art sales benefits Kanapaha Botanical Gardens. There is no cost associated with attending the Art Opening. The outside Gardens will not be open at this time.

FALL PLANT SALE & ORCHID SHOW: OCTOBER 22 & 23 (9am-5pm)
Each October, Kanapaha Botanical Gardens holds an Open House & Fall Plant Sale, in conjunction with the Gainesville Orchid Society, inviting visitors to see the facility ADMISSION FREE. Kanapaha Botanical Gardens formally opened to the public in October of 1987 and the Open House is a means of celebrating our 'birthday.' In addition to viewing the botanical gardens, approximately 50 booth will be set up selling a wide variety of plants. The American Orchid Society will have their annual American Orchid Society's judged show that will coincide with the Fall Plant Sale and will take place inside Kanapaha's entrance building. Bring cash because most vendors do not accept credit cards. Pets are not allowed at these festivals.
 
RENTAL
With both indoor and outdoor spaces available, Kanapaha is the perfect location for weddings, meetings or other party related function. For more info click here

The gift shop offers an exceptional diversity of unusual gifts and has many wonderful gift ideas! Open the same hours as the garden.
BRING A PICNIC
Bring a picnic basket and take advantage of our expansive lawns, picnic tables, gazebos and benches. Drinks and snacks available in Summer House.
WALK YOUR DOG
With few places in Gainesville being pet friendly, take advantage of Kanapaha's pet welcoming approach. When on a leash, dogs are welcome to enjoy the gardens. We also have dog watering bowls placed on both sides of the gardens to keep your canine hydrated.
Note: dogs are not allowed for special events like our Spring Garden Festival or Moonlight Walk.
