ISLAND ROOM
AT CEDAR COVE REOPENS
January 28, 2018

One of the toughest things to live without after Hurricane Hermine was Peter and Gina Stefani’s Island Room at Cedar Cove.  Local have missed the fabulous menu selections, the consummately welcoming and gracious wait staff, and the magnificent view.

Opening at 9 am, the room quickly filled on Sunday, January 28, 2018, with area residents audibly exhaling, saying such things as, “finally,” “so glad to be here,”  “couldn’t wait for this,” and “yes, yes.”

Peter’s magnificent menu has returned with everyone’s breakfast / brunch favorites.  Shrimp Stew over Grits, Grouper Hash, Crab Benedict, Duck Confit Hash, and Amaretto French Toast….call there at their mouth-watering finest.  Peter’s famous sourdough bread made its reappearance as well.    It’s as wonderful as ever.

And, the wait staff has returned as personable and attentive as ever.  Tim Hart and Callie Pierce, joined by Emily Colson, served perfect mimosas and bloody Marys and never allowed anyone to see the bottom of his coffee cup without offering a refill.

And, the room with its view is even better.  From the remnants of hurricane damage, the Stefanis have created a wonderfully open, light, roomy, “Island Room.”  The white table cloths, accented with blue linen napkins, complete the island feel.  The old bar has morphed into a twelve-seat extended bar that looks out on to the water and greatly opens the entry into the room.   The “Sand Bar” neon sign above the bar was designed by Emily Colson.
