RECYCLING REMINDERS
Do you sometimes not know quite where to put waste?
Or wonder if you have been doing it right?
Should it go in the recycle bin or the trash?
Below are quick, helpful reminders.
The following items are recyclable in Levy County
via curbside recycling in Cedar Key and county trailers:
- #1 and #2 plastics (polyethylene, terephthalate, high-density polyethylene)
- aluminum and tin cans
- clean foil and foil plans
- brown, green and clear glass bottles
- newspapers, magazines, telephone books
- flattened, corrugated cardboard
- paperboard packaging
The following are recyclable at retail grocery stores:

plastic shopping bags at Publix, Walmart, and Winn Dixie

styrofoam egg cartons and fruit/vegetable trays at Publix
The following are NOT recyclable in Levy County:
- #5 and #6 plastics (polypropylene and polystyrene)
- shrink wrap
- styrofoam cups, containers, and peanut packaging
- plastic utensils and straws
- juice boxes
- waxed cardboard boxes and juice containers
- shredded paper
- junk mail
- aerosol cans
- plastic motor oil containers
