For the past several years the Cedar Key Woman’s Club members and friends have made a beautiful quilt to benefit the Gainesville Fisher House. Raffle Tickets each year are sold up to the time of the Arts Festival and then a lucky winner's name is drawn. The Fisher House provides temporary lodging in a comfortable and relaxed setting only steps from the Veterans Medical Center. Guests can stay at the Fisher House at NO cost for as long as their loved one is hospitalized.
This year’s donation was a $2,000 check presented to Fisher House by Eileen Senecal, a longtime member of the CKWC. Kelly, a five year staff member of Fisher House, gladly accepted the donation!
Cedar Key Woman's Club's donations over the years have totaled approximately $20,000. The club's devotion to this worthy cause is indeed commendable.
